Meyrani Training provides authentic, Aboriginal-informed Relational Practice training to help your organisation build a culture that creates meaningful relationships with First Nations communities.
Meyrani Training is proudly Aboriginal owned and led, bringing authentic perspectives and deep cultural knowledge to our training programs.
Founded by John Byrne, a proud Aboriginal man with decades of international experience in cultural change education, Meyrani Training was created to address the gap in authentic, respectful Aboriginal-led cultural responsiveness training that allows all parties to come to the table.
We believe that true cultural understanding comes from learning directly from Aboriginal people in a safe, inclusive, and comfortable environment. This allows for deep, robust two-way discussions that build real understanding and allyship.
We work with corporations and organisations across Australia to build genuine cultural capability that goes beyond token gestures to create meaningful change.
Building cultural integrity through reciprocity, not just awareness.

The program is structured around key areas that matter most to helpers:
Learn how hearing others' stories of pain and loss affects your own mind, body, and emotions. Distinguish between vicarious trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue.
Explore the unique challenges disasters bring—loss of place, disrupted connection, and the overwhelming impact on whole communities.
Identify early warning signs across physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural domains.
Practise setting healthy boundaries so you can care without carrying more than you can manage.
Use the FUN Model (Focus, Uplift, Nurture) to choose effective self-care activities, supported by grounding and energy-recovery techniques.
Develop a tailored roadmap of daily, weekly, and emergency self-care practices, backed by your support network.
Recognise red flags, explore available professional resources, and strengthen your peer and community support systems.
Commit to small, consistent actions that build resilience, ensuring you can continue your important work without sacrificing your own wellbeing.
Helping others through trauma can take a hidden toll. Staying Strong™ equips you with knowledge, practical tools, and ongoing strategies so that you can continue to serve your community with strength, clarity, and compassion—without losing yourself in the process.
